Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a term used to describe symptoms such as Anxiety, Depression, amongst other emotional and mental health problems due to a traumatic event in one’s life. A typical example of this nature would include, amongst others, traffic accidents or military veterans wounded while serving a tour in war-torn countries.
Several years ago, I was involved in a traumatic road traffic accident. As a result, this had a significant impact on my life and the lives of those closest to me. I felt compelled to create an animated short which would be informed by my own personal experience.
Many PTSD sufferers turn to substances such as alcohol and in some cases narcotics. Because of the impact of their injuries, sufferers can build up a strong reliance on prescription drugs such as painkillers and anti-depression medication.
My 2D animation explores these themes. This story will be brought to life with the use of strong unique visuals and a narrative style.
