Floramaster
’Floramaster’ is a 3D third-person Farming RPG developed in the Unity Engine for my final 4th year project. The game takes place in a fantasy world in which the player steps into the shoes of the Floramaster, a character with the ability to grow Plantlings, magical crops that come to life. They are summoned to the village of Calanthe in order to use their powers to help the village restore its waning vitality. Along with tending the farm, the player can explore the environment to gather materials and interact with the residents of their home village.
For this vertical slice, I focused on developing the colourful stylized visuals and setting up the basic game loop. The player can grow Plantlings from seeds by watering them each day, and harvest crops from full grown Plantlings which can be sold at the village shop as they are or cooked into dishes for higher profit. The player can also gather materials by chopping branches in order to create fertilizer, which increases the amount of crops a Plantling produces. The game features a day/night cycle, stamina system, inventory system, shop system, and dialogue system.
