I find it fascinating to see how children’s media evolves with each creative decision an art director makes. When I started this project, I wanted to see whether I could design something that was child-friendly yet still accessible to a wider audience. When I was creating my project, I sought inspiration from Ghibli and Cartoon Saloon, two major studios that really influenced me growing up. Both of these studios have gorgeous character and background art, the stories told are memorable to the audience. While I am only creating a short film compared to these studios, their works has inspired me to keep moving towards my goal of finishing my short film. While working on this short film I realised the difficulties and hardships which come with Project Management, Designing of Characters and other Elements of the project. Throughout my project journey I have upskilled my use of software’s that I was once not as competent with using. I aim to bring my short film to life with use of these techniques with the goal in mind for the audience to experience a memorable short film.
