So…
So… An everyday word, and like so many small words, big in meaning, it’s a question, an introduction to a theory, an explanation of a situation…it attaches itself to a lot of discourses in contemporary conversation.
I named my animation ‘So…’ because of these aforementioned terms of usage and how the word plays in context to numerous outcomes or as an exploratory device.
And so…we are caught in a continuous loop of decision and indecision and semantic constructs and mental crisis. This ‘so’ is a beginning and an end, a start to new journey and a question as to how it could end. I personified the word ‘so’, the journey, adventure and own misgivings, of their curious undertakings or haphazard accidental situations. Tensions are met with undulating cavernous lulls, fear of the unknown and a leap into the mouth of a dark colossal chasm. It’s a journey of the mind, senses and emotions. Places we are familiar with both emotionally and figuratively. There is never an absolute outcome that we can foresee, but knowing that is its own understanding. Fear is the dread of the unknown, a feeling that everyone can relate to at some point in their life.
Thematically the animation is the exploration of this fear and how it causes confusion and a despair of the unknown, of our future and its unpredictable outcomes. The protagonist seeks to face these fears and deals as only he can.
