The Fear of the Day
“The Fear of the Day” delves into the worries and fears of young adults in their daily lives. Think of
the film as a glimpse into a day, from sunrise to sunset, capturing all the things that cause
discomfort. The animation depicts scenes to visually represent these worries. It’s about these
agonising questions and thoughts: “Am I good enough?”, “Are the others more important than I am?”,
“Am I being seen?”, “Am I being too selfish?”. It describes the insecurities of teenagers and young
adults, the fear of being excluded and the question of one’s own worth. Using Procreate, After
Effects, and Premiere to bring these concepts to life, it meticulously crafts each frame to convey the
depth of these concerns. Every stroke and effect serves to amplify the emotional impact, drawing
the audience into the inner turmoil of the protagonist. The sound effects in the film were personally
recorded to convey authenticity and enhance emotional resonance. From the faint rustle of leaves to
the distant hum of traffic, each sound adds another layer to the immersive experience, making it feel
as though the audience is living through these anxieties alongside the protagonist.
