In Noctem is a title sequence that draws inspiration from Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury tales, specifically the Pardoners tale. This story depicts the downfall of three friends who set out to conquer death but end up succumbing to their own greed and selfishness, ultimately leading to their demise.   

This cautionary tale serves to illuminate the dangers of greed and its ability to erode an individuals moral compass. The three friends’ avarice and self indulgence cause them to betray each other for the promise of wealth, ultimately leading to their downfall.   

The Latin phrase “In Noctem” meaning “throughout the night” has been used in literature, music and art to symbolise death, darkness and the unknown all of which feature prominently in the Pardoner’s Tale.   

In conclusion, In Noctem is a retelling of a timeless tale that warns against the dangers and consequences of greed and bigotry while empasizing the importance of living an honest and virtuous life. It’s themes continue to resonate with audiences today, serving as a reminder of the perils of succumbing to our darkest impulses.
