The Apartment Series
A young child visits the members of his make-shift family unit made up of a kindly girl in a bear suit, a charismatic animatronic and a retired eldritch entity in a bathtub to interview them.
In an off-kilter and ambient love-letter to role-playing games such as Undertale, these three shorts focus from the first person view of a child living in an apartment not quite tied in with reality as we are familiar with it, and the bizarre people and otherworldly eldritch abominations that he calls family, from a a tech-savvy girl hiding in bear pyjamas to a decommissioned animatronic on a defunct five-star cruise liner, meet the unusual and quirky characters that take it on themselves to serve as guidance givers and caretakers (with varying degrees of success or moral integrity) in these relaxed animated shorts.
These pieces deal with the beautiful strangeness of found families and how characters from different walks of life can get together to support each other, an important message in the 21st century where blood ties are no longer the be-all end-all and found families are growing in media representation.
