Solo Sports Channel Brand
Solo is designed to be a multi-platform portal for women’s sport, that provides round the clock coverage and in depth analysis of all women’s sport in Ireland. Solo aims to provide live coverage of sports that cannot typically be viewed on Irish terrestrial television, so that no sport is left uncovered and no fan is left out.
Women’s sport is becoming more popular in Ireland. The recent success of many Irish female athletes has contributed to the growth of women’s sport at grass roots level. Unfortunately, the coverage of women’s sport continues to be marginalised. This leaves many fans unable to watch their favourite female athletes in action. Solo aims to bridge the gap between the coverage of men’s and women’s sport.
The unique preparation rituals of individual players inspire the channel idents. The aim is to motivate women to take their sport to the next level; pushing their limits to achieve victory and develop into reknowned sports personalities.
The aesthetic of the brand is inspired by textures commonly found in sporting apparel. The colour palette uses selective shades of purple and grey which feature prominently alongside angular graphics inspired by the cutting edge logo.
