Screw Loose
Screw Loose started off as a story revolving around the theme of “Clarity”, but eventually developed into something with more of a comedic focused. I was inspired by many of the cartoon’s I grew up with in the early 2000s, which relied heavily on slap shtick and exaggerated movement for its comedy. So, I wanted to pay tribute to those cartoons by replicating their unique style in my animation. I also wanted to incorporate my love of Sci-Fi and Robots into my animation, thus the project’s story focuses on the comedic Hijinx of a robot character.
Screw loose is a comedic take of how a post-apocalyptic world caused by a robot uprising, that we’ve seen so many times in fiction, would happen. The cause usually being something along the lines of robots seeing humanity as inferior or didn’t think humanity’s existence was logically necessary. Instead, this time around it’s just because one robot was just working his 9-5 job and had one of those bad days that sends him completely over the edge, causing the robot uprising. So, the world ends and not because of something sinister, but because of something mundane.
