How to be a Good Ancestor
In How to be a Good Ancestor, Roman Kryznaric urges us to change our way of thinking, expand our time horizons and become more compassionate towards our planet and future generations. The accompanying animation takes a strictly-typographic approach. The letter’s expressive forms serve to emphasise and amplify the message’s meaning. Quickly drawn handwriting is used throughout, alongside larger scale letters inspired by protest posters. Words also take shape from materials such as paper, seeds and flowers as if the message was being delivered from nature itself.
In keeping with the personal and emotional sentiment in the piece, the animation uses a hand drawn style, embracing the physical marks and imperfections which make us human. Hopefully these visuals will serve to energise the message, capture the attention of new audiences and ultimately create a positive impact on the world.
