Take Up Space
Deirbhile Sheehy is a 22-year-old aspiring Videographer/Photographer from Kerry. Studying at TUS Moylish Limerick, Deirbhile learned the skills of Creative Broadcast & Film Production. She has worked on three separate seasons of Other Voices in Dingle Co. Kerry. This is where her interest sparked to work in the show business of TV. In the future she plans to work at live events such as concerts and festivals of any kind capturing that perfect moment. This year it was her first-time crewing on a feature documentary ‘Take Up Space’ as Director Of Photography. ‘Take Up Space’ is a feature documentary about the amount of safe spaces in Ireland for the LGBTQ+ community. While filming this production Deirbhile and the rest of the crew travelled the length and breath of Ireland interviewing some of those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. In bringing this topic of safe spaces to people’s attention has made her want to work on future projects that let those unspoken stories be heard.
