Words last forever
Weight discrimination means mistreating an individual because of their weight. It perpetuates negative stereotypes, affects both mental and physical health, and contributes to social unfairness. The project “Words last forever” promotes understanding, compassion and respect by addressing the issue of weight discrimination.
The aim is to challenge societal norms, to promote inclusion and to advocate equal treatment for all, regardless of size. It is hoped that such efforts will contribute to a more empathetic and accepting society, where every individual feels valued and supported.
The campaign includes a video featuring objects denoting excessive weight, along with images of a naked body, overlaid with the hurtful words people use against individuals perceived as overweight. Music overlaid on the video contains both hurtful words and words aimed at promoting change. The type is animated in such a way as to show that words do stick and last, and to encourage people to think before they speak. Additionally, a large clothes tag is hung from a board by rope to showcase that every size is perfect. A series of posters highlights the importance of treating everyone with kindness regardless of their weight.
