Electdrive
The future of personal transport faces unprecedented evolution. Our existing understanding of cars will change greatly over the course of the next few decades. It is clear to us the benefits of cleaner, greener, and simpler cars. With electric replacing internal combustion engines, and automatic replacing manual gearboxes, cars will soon be fully automated.
For people who find driving stressful, boring, and time-consuming, autonomous vehicles will be a game-changer. Mobile rooms that we charge and interact with like our phones. For those who enjoy driving, social pressure will mean car makers choose comfort, efficiency, and practicality over engagement, enjoyment, and emotion.
The familiar exhaust note of a petrol engine, the instinctive movement of a stick-shift, the visceral bounce of a steering wheel in your hand. Every car being automated means there are no drivers in the world, only passengers. With full automation, nobody has total control of their car and of their freedom.
Electdrive is my response to this on behalf of the true drivers of the world. Electdrive is a fictional automaker that maintains all the technology and responsibility of modern cars but also upholds the values of what makes driving a tactile and engaging experience.
We drive because we are driven.
