– Awareness.Reflection.Control – Physical Environments Influence on Mental Health
The Designer chose this topic due to their personal struggles with mental health issues, which
were partially influenced by their surroundings including different countries, workspaces, and
people. Feeling uncomfortable and disliking the physical appearance of their surroundings
prompted them to seek solutions.
They became aware of the deterioration of their mental state, leading them to reflect and identify its causes. Taking control over the stressors, they initiated changes. Drawing from personal
preference and scientifically based research, they discovered that natural elements positively
impact mental well-being, behavior, cognitive functions, mood, and more.
They view awareness, reflection, and control as underlying psychological processes and aim to
teach others to understand how their surroundings affect their mental health. The goal of this
triptych poster campaign is to motivate individuals to actively shape a supportive and nurturing
environment.
