As we are, so we see
My work is concerned with the Environment and our constant decreasing Biodiversity. Participation in “The Awakening” that is underway, is at the heart of my practice. I emphasize the aesthetic and poetic potential of Nature through photography and filmmaking, in the form of narrated photomontages. Of importance are labour intense analogue processes, that are unpredictable in outcome.
Conceptual drives are:
I am a keen observer and aim to record through analogue media the physical conditions of our natural world. Always trying to work with the greatest care, as each touch harms! My goal is to animate and make visible, and to find new ways to define our relationship with Nature. Working with raw findings, I challenge our views, values, and priorities. I respect life’s cycles and fall into the mystery and playfulness that our environment provides us with.
