“Arachnobat”
“Arachnobat” is a third-person traversal game made with the Unity engine to be played prospectively either on PC or Console. Taking inspiration from such titles such as Hollow Knight, Animal Crossing and the Ori Franchise which feature small, cute and non-human characters coupled with the author’s fondness of the jumping spider species lead to the production of a game where players experience the human world from the eyes of a dainty, small and fragile spider named Philip.
“Arachnobat” was created as part of the Major Games Project module. The project aim was to create an introduction to the vision of what “Arachnobat” could be in the future by constructing a playable level where it would showcase the game loop and abilities of our spider persona. Climb, Swing and Jump as a jumping spider would through the hazardous enviornment. Along the way finding aid from a worker bee Samaritan that is present, and who will help guide you throughout the level.
This project is a culmination of 4 years of study at TUS learning a variety of game development skills including game and level design, 3d modelling, animation, texturing, programming and coding.
