Alec Baker is an artist and designer from Galway.

As an artist, Alec’s illustrations often take inspiration from Nick Sharratt and Georgie Ripper, children’s book illustrators he is familiar with from his youth. He has a great interest in nature. His design work tends to focus on highlighting relevant social issues. Along with art, he possesses a passion for social justice and education, and is ‘Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion’ officer for the TUS MidWest Student Union 2022-2023. The aim of this project is to promote a more inclusive and considerate society. It is important that those with one or more dietary requirements have easy access to establishments that cater to their needs. These locations should be made more accessible to visitors as well as those who may live in the locality.

Sásta is a restaurant brand set up specifically to cater for those who are often left out due to their dietary requirements. Every meal in this chain strives to be suitable for vegans, vegetarians, and anyone who has any of the other 14 major food allergens or intolerances. The existence of this service and advertising campaign should encourage other restaurant owners alike to have a more inclusive menu.
