Graphic Design Communication
Aisling Cawley
By doing this course I’ve learned the essential skills and conceptual thinking that every graphic designer needs. Motion design and illustration are the areas of graphic design that I’m most interested in. My style of artwork has evolved in the four years I’ve been in college, during this time the research and experimenting stage has been vital to the quality of the final artwork. I enjoy experimenting with hard-edged graphics by overlapping them with various textures to create interesting visuals. The work I’ve produced so far has been influenced by numerous designers such as Jessica Walsh and Paula Scher and Saul Bass. The “Not Enough Time” is a motion design project for the RSA Student Design Awards. The concept of this animation drew from our generation’s experience with technology, how it can consume your valuable time. Using interfaces and icons commonly seen on laptops and phones, these elements were used as a vehicle to communicate and support Tiffany’s message to women.
