Linear Connection
The art of construction and architecture influences and inspires my work. ‘Linear Connection’ was inspired from one of the ‘Heatherwick Studios’ buildings. It is made from a metal foil material with the inner function of the building to be an Art Studio. I found the design process of these architectures interesting, as they make a miniature prototype and sketches of the building they are going to construct. Using the same process, I designed a collection using the connection of lines to build up to the sixth look, which is a full foil constructed garment. The fabrics I used are- Corduroy, Suiting, Leatherette, Waterproof and Neoprene. Using bright bold colourful fabric to represent the Art Studio and the silver metallic fabric running throughout the six pieces, I have constructed a functional wearable collection with a cool contemporary twist using creative pattern drafting.
Work Experience: Alexander McQueen, MCQ, London.
