Take off the Mask
This video is a campaign that raises awareness of the social mask and the changed behavior towards others. It highlights the consequences of people constantly pretending and portraying themselves as someone they are not. People often put on masks or a false face to be someone else, to process something, to please someone, to be accepted, or to play a fictional character. There are benefits and/or positive effects to pretending, but there are also negative effects, which can be devastating in serious situations, leading one to ask: Who am I really? For many people, especially young adults and teenagers, it is very difficult to determine exactly who they are or who their true self is. In some individuals, the true self is so strongly suppressed or they simply do not want to show it, causing it to merge until the person can no longer distinguish what their true self is and what is just a role. Therefore, the video “Take off the Mask” presents these points to people and offers a solution and assistance for those affected.
