Monster Haven
Monster Haven is a one-person final year project. It is a third person cozy vet simulator developed in Unity 2022 for PC. You play as monster researcher and caretaker, Elowyn. It is heavily inspired by Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise, but instead of hunting the monsters, you play the role of rehabilitating them so they can be released to their natural habitats.
Gameplay consists of mechanics to diagnose any health issues with the monster and mechanics to treat the health issues found. These mechanics are X-Raying, heart health monitoring, feeding the monster food with a sedative, placing a cast on broken bones, and measuring medication into a syringe to apply to the monster. Players will also be able to reference an in-game notebook for information on the specific monsters.
The goal of this project was to show off my own character and creature creation skills. The game has a heavy emphasis on visuals, particularly the quality of the characters and monsters.
