Disport: Prototype Mobile Application Design
Throughout the process of this project from having ideas to making it come alive, I have learned so much from creating this. Not only of academic and career values, but the understanding of how important artists and artwork should be valued.
In this day and age, we are slowly forgetting how creativity sprouts. How paintings are made. How faces are remembered and drawn. When we rely on the online world to show our efforts in doing this, we also lose the root principles in why we create what we create. Fearing numbers in likes, views, and comments with our engagement falling should not be factors in why we create.
This is why I wanted to research and design a platform that could help rekindle the history of artwork and exposure without having to rely on numbers to promote what creativity is.
Disport is a prototype mobile application design for creative individuals all around the world. The application will help these individuals expose their work and their name by efficiently showcasing their content on an aesthetically appealing, fun, and unique social media platform.
In the current state of social media, numbers signify your worth and popularity as an individual on the internet. Followers, likes, saves, comments, and views- that is what makes you worth it. Disport highlights your worth by your work and effort. The application is designed to counter the common algorithmic results of exposing content to users, by using a carousel feature that showcases recently posted content and can be refreshed by the will of a user at any moment to have new content to spot.
With a minimalistic approach, unique and innovative design, and a set of various personalisation options for a creative user, Disport will be the newest platform to dominate the creative industry and highlight creatives with impeccable talent.
