It’s Not Always Obvious
It’s Not Always Obvious, is a male mental health campaign that encourages men to talk to and look out for their mates and provides helpful information for people struggling with mental health.
This isn’t the first campaign to deal with the subject of male mental health. Over recent years attitudes towards masculinity and male mental health began to change thanks to media campaigns, documentaries, movies, music videos, books and social media allowing people to share their experiences. This campaign aims to build on all that good work, because despite a change in attitudes, men still die by suicide 3.5x more often than women.
There is still work to do. By letting men know that mental health problems are not always obvious, by encouraging men to look out for and talk to their mates and by reinforcing the fact that real men talk about mental health, this campaign aims to further the changing of attitudes so that men feel comfortable dealing with their mental health in a healthy way.
