Arthur
‘Arthur’ is a stop motion animation piece set in 1911. Everything displayed in the animation, including the attic itself, was carefully crafted, handmade and hand sewn. I used MDF boards, foam, wire, clay and wool as well as recycled clothes. Each object, including the walls, floor and attic frame was hand painted adding as much detail as possible to create an eerie atmospheric feeling to the attic setting. The armatures were also made from scratch, using wire and foam, giving them as much movability as possible. This animation was animated using the stop motion animation method. It was filmed in an environment where light can be controlled, and every character movement was captured one frame at a time.
‘Arthur’ is a story about a young boy that lives in an old attic. Locked away and isolated from everyone. However, once a day, he is visited by a strange character called Mr.Anderson. Arthur has lost count about how many times Mr. Anderson has visited him in this gloomy attic, yet he has a strange feeling, this visit won’t be like any other.
